St. Nicholas Feast Day

St. Nicholas Feast Day was celebrated with their normal level of excitement.  In other words, someone remembered last minute before bed that it was the night to put out the shoes. Then someone else started the debate about "should we use church shoes or snow boots?"  That quickly led to "Church shoes.  Bed.  Now."  Blase was gone on a vocations visit to a formation house, but his sisters made sure he was included.

They all received an addition to the SaintCards game, socks from Sock Religious, candy, and an orange.  The biggest disappointment was that there were no candy coins.  Big fail, Mom.

Corpus Christi Procession 2020

We helped with the Corpus Christi procession again this year.  We are old pros now.  It was windy and a vase paid the price, so maybe not old pros after all!

Decorating Easter Eggs

Easter egg decorating was an adventure this year. No kitchen means you dye Easter eggs with your work boots on in the gutted out kitchen.
umm, a slight twinning effect going on.
They are so goofy.

2020 Easter means corny songs like,
"I'm dreaming of a white Easter..."

Rex decided to do the "last egg with all the colors" this year.
That's usually reserved for Darren, but we broke tradition.
It was a lovely shade of chocolate.

St. Valentine's Day Tea

The girls were invited to a dress-up-in-your-pretty-dresses St. Valentine's Day tea at their cousins' house.  They had a wonderful time sipping tea, eating "fancy" cakes, and doing a craft.  Their Aunt Maria sure knows how to throw a girl-friendly party!

 Isn't he the cutest!?
Blase is Jack's Godfather.  His first Godchild.

Year of the Eucharist Procession

St. Francis of the Assisi Church in Sturgis had a procession to begin the Year of the Eucharist.  The kids and I were the main decorators/altar designers.  I think it turned out well.
