June 29th Storm

The end of June brought more storms.  This one was crazy!
This was to the south.

This was to the west.

The garden was just starting to grow so I wanted proof it looked amazing in case it hailed.

This was to the north.

Someone was having a beautiful day!

June 6th Storm

I have found that one of my very favorite things to do is stand outside before a storm comes and take pictures.  One of these days I'll take pictures of the beautiful blue South Dakota sky.  These are pictures from the June 6th storm.  We've had a lot of storms lately, so watch for more amazing pictures.  Amazing in my opinion...

May 20th Storm

If you are new to my blog you will find out that I LOVE storms.  I will post many pictures during the spring and summer of the amazing storms we have here in the Northern Hills.  On May 20th we had a cool storm.  It looked (and smelled) like hail so we put the vehicles in the barns.  Surprise, surprise - the hail amounted to nothing worth talking about.  I think we'll go ahead and put the vehicles in the barn every storm!
This cloud was looking very suspicious.  It did look like funnel for a bit, but by the time I got the camera it decided to behave.
 Those are HUGE rain drops!

I really love when you can see a storm moving across the sky.
Rain to the north and clear(ish) skies to the south.
That appears to be a wall of rain!

April Snow

Snow in April is not that unusual.  What is crazy about the snow from April 19th was how big the snowflakes were.  These pictures don't do it justice.  You can catch glimpses of how big in a couple of the corners of the pictures.

June Storms

The rain just kept coming in June.
The driveway lake got larger
 and larger with every rain.
The locals were sick of the rain.
Well, at least a local rabbit was sick of the rain.
The twinnies thought the rain was the best thing ever.
 Rain, rain kept coming!!
We even had to mow the lawn with all that rain.
(They were SOOO wet that day.  It was a great memory!)
This was the result of potential hail coming.  I moved the van beside the house and got DRENCHED in seconds.  It was one of the most wicked storms of the season.

Bear Butte - Sunsets and Fashion Accessories

Sunsets are always my favorite time of day.  I know I've said that before.  I'm normally not awake for the sunrises, but I'm sure I'd love them too.

These pictures are from June 8th.  The sunset that night was amazing.  I just couldn't catch the true color with my camera.

Here it was starting to get darker and the colors were more vibrant.

We don't have many trees around our place so seeing deer is a rare treat.

This picture was from June 10th.  I love how Bear Butte is always changing looks and uses the weather as fashion accessories.
