Bear Butte in April

This is why we can't have Easter egg hunts outside.  It snows in April.

Isn't Bear Butte beautiful at sunrise.

Gooseberry Falls, Minnesota

On October 14th we visited Gooseberry Falls.  This is a beautiful location right next to Lake Superior.
This is where the Gooseberry River meets Lake Superior.

A lovely view of Lake Superior in the distance.

Split Rock Light Station

The visitor's center had very interesting collection of displays.

Looking down over the edge of the cliff side of the light station.
SCARY!
 Even more over the edge...
SCARIER!!
Weird lighting outcome, but an idea of what it looks like on that backside.  Kind of overwhelming and scary all at the same time.  Glad for railings!!

Climbing to the top of the light station!

The columns going down to the water for the tramway they used to use to haul materials and supplies up to the light house.  I did NOT walk the steps down there, but Darren and the kids did.

Split Rock Lighthouse FAVORITES:
