Northern Cabela's Trip

We made a quick trip to Cabela's in Grand Forks.  We actually decided we wanted to see someone else's snow instead of our own.  This picture is especially for Gianna's Godparents.  She wore her Cabela's "Daddy's Little Deer" shirt.  Don't you just LOVE those pig-tails!?!

Chili Mango Jelly Bean

Gianna's Godparents sent along a variety pack of jelly beans for the kids for Easter.  They had a great time trying different combinations.  There were some good ones, some not so good ones, and some plain disgusting combos.  Then there was this one jelly flavor.  Have you ever had a Chili Mango jelly bean? Stephen and Cormac tried one - they ended up spitting it out and washing out their mouths with cup after cup of water.  Blase, having not seen that, didn't take my word that he should avoid that jelly bean.
Sure, Mom - it can't be THAT bad.
 Ahhhhhhh!!!
 My mouth!  My head!!
 That's not fair!!!
I can do this, I can do this.
Oh the pain!!!!!

He did make it through the whole jelly bean.  Do you want to try one??  We have a few to spare, says the mom who giggled through the whole ordeal saying "I warned you!"

Gianna's 2nd Birthday

Today is Gianna's 2nd birthday.  We spoiled her as much today as ever, maybe more.
Present time11
These were from cousin Bella, including 2 coloring books, a necklace and bracelet, and candy.
Thank you Bella (and Jenna, Aunt Mauri, and Uncle Peter)!!!
Aunt Courtney made Gianna tutu shirt.  It is a bit big, but she will grow into it.
Thanks Aunt Courtney!!
More and more presents!  Mom and Dad gave her a new bedding set for the toddler bed.  I just couldn't make her sleep on Lightning McQueen sheets.  They are so old that if you pull too hard when putting them on the mattress they may tear.  They have been used every day for 3-4 years, including more washes than I can imagine.  I'm sure Gianna will prefer a girly set that actually stays on the bed.
Mommy gave her new undershirts and underwear.  Gee, what a gift!
Daddy gave her pajamas for the summer time.
Brech Earl gave her a Minnie Mouse doll (that matches his Mickey Mouse) and her own big girl cup with Cinderella on it.
Rex picked out a dress up farm girl dress and a Blessed Virgin Mary coloring book.
Cormac gave her a broom set.  All the boys took the broom for a sweep around the kitchen.  Seriously - I have a broom boys - you can use it ANYTIME to sweep the kitchen!
Stephen gave Gianna some organic fruit snacks and a Thumper book.  I love Thumper.  He's so sweet.  I enjoy reading the stories about him to the kids.
Blase gave her "Barbie - Twelve Dancing Princesses" and a three movie set of Veggie Tales. They include three "girl" Veggie Tale movies.  The boys were so excited about the Veggie Tales movies.
Mom and Dad gave her a baby bed.  We put Minnie Mouse in there and Gianna rocked her.  She kept saying "rock-a-bye, rock-a-bye" and it made us all ohh and ahh at our "Little Mommy".
Grandpa and Grandma Bestgen and kids gave Gianna a Minnie Mouse bath towel, a new purse, toothpaste, and a Mickey and Minnie hand puppet wash clothes.
Gianna has some of the BEST Godparents.  Holy moly they spoiled her ROTTEN!
First thing she opened were girl Legos.  That's the first toy that was opened by her brothers.
They also gave her a Beauty and the Beast tea set.  That was the second toy opened and played with.
They gave her a pretty dress and socks, plus a football toy.
And because that wasn't enough - they gave her a Cabela's shirt that says "Daddy's Little Dear".
 YUP - SPOILED ROTTEN!!!
Gianna fits in her cradle too.  She's wearing Brech Earl's boots.  I think a pair of cowboy boots are on the list for her 3rd birthday.
 Strawberry cake with pink frosting.....yummy!
 Happy Birthday!!
 Good job!!!
Poor Stephen.  He had to eat his cake off of a Cinderella plate.  "Mom, that picture better not go on the blog!"  Heehee, giggle, giggle!!  "Yup, it is going on the blog TONIGHT!"

As the Belly Grows...Part 1

 No weeks pregnant.
12 weeks pregnant.

Happy Easter 2013

Thanks Aunt Courtney for the Pez candy and dispensers.
A purple basket for a little lady.
She didn't care about anything in the basket except the CHOCOLATE!!
 He found it!
CANDY!  And a Catholic ABC books and Mickey Mouse Color Wonder pages.
Good thing the fire place wasn't going last night - Rex's candy would have melted.
A St. Padre Pio cross for a happy boy!
A basket hiding where this boy usually hides...hummm.
He found a St. Michael the Archangel dog tag in his basket.
BOOKS Stephen??
 Sneaky...sneaky hiding place!
WHAT?  An icon picture!  He couldn't believe it.
Ha ha - what a great place to hide Blase's basket.
A new book and Sea Monkeys.  Too much fun!
Easter egg hunting - on your mark, get set....GO!
Full run towards Mom.  It's amazing that any of the eggs survived the hunt!
The hunters who found the eggs upstairs.
 FOUND it Mom!
The only major causality of the hunt.  Darren's egg suffered a minor bump on one end as well.
Bunch of cute kids!
 Still cute!
 KIPPING!!!
 Are you gonna win???
NOPE!  I was the kipping champ of the day.  I think that's a first.
My egg lost on one side, but in the end was victorious.

We had a great day complete with Mass and company for supper.  The snow is still deep, the wind still blowing, the temperature still cold, but the SUN did SHINE!  We couldn't have asked for a nicer Fargo Easter.  Here's hoping spring comes sooner than later!!
