A Sledding Party

We spent a Sunday afternoon together on the sleds.

 Ohhh, be careful!

This is the barn and shop from the west side.  I haven't seen this side of the ranch for a couple of years.
It was bound to happen.  Goofy kids!
After the wreck I traded places and got in a sled with the twins.

 Cutie pie Kiara!
Brave Brigid who did NOT want me to hold onto her.
 Amazing horizon to the east.

One bloody lip to end the fun.  She was a trooper and handled it well.

Not the Norm

The bi-directional had to have a visit to the shop.  When they came to pick up the tractor and drop off a loaner there was a bit of excitement afterwards.  The trailer brakes froze up and won't move until they put heaters on them for a couple of hours.  One guy's bad day became our entertainment and blog post opportunity.

Shadow in the Sky

I'm not sure I've ever seen a shadow (the dark line) from an airplane track (the white line above the dark line).  It was really amazing to see in person.

I love wide open spaces!!

Matilda

We had an open cow somehow hurt her back end.  She wasn't able to stand up and was dragging her back legs behind her.  I called her Matilda since she must have been out waltzing to have such an ordeal happen.   ha ha

The only logical thing was to put her down and butcher her.  We were in need of hamburger anyway.

The things we see around here....like headless cows.
We called this the funeral procession.

Stephen Burrito

Stephen's brothers helped him wrap up in a blanket one morning before prayers.
 Kiara was worried about him.
She said she wanted to hug him because he was her "best friend".
She's a sweetheart!

Expecting More Snow

We are expecting a little more snow tomorrow night.
I think we have enough snow, but the kids would love to have a bit more I'm sure.
The big tractor plowed these wind breaks.
I think we have enough snow.
That pile is almost as tall as the three bale stack to the west of it.
I think we have enough snow.
This pile is in the yard.  It is taller than the van.
I think we have enough snow.
Brech, Gianna, and Cormac don't think we have enough snow.

Brech's Day

Today Brech got up earlier than normal and went chorin' with his dad.
He's reminded me multiple times today that he had already been up for a long time, that he had been outside most of the morning, and that he had toast for breakfast.  I just love his enthusiasm!!
