St. Nicholas Feast Day

St. Nicholas Feast Day was celebrated with their normal level of excitement.  In other words, someone remembered last minute before bed that it was the night to put out the shoes. Then someone else started the debate about "should we use church shoes or snow boots?"  That quickly led to "Church shoes.  Bed.  Now."  Blase was gone on a vocations visit to a formation house, but his sisters made sure he was included.

They all received an addition to the SaintCards game, socks from Sock Religious, candy, and an orange.  The biggest disappointment was that there were no candy coins.  Big fail, Mom.

Haircuts

The girls got their hair cut just before Halloween.  It had been awhile (like a year...) since they had their hair cut and they were getting tired of the length.  Too cute!!

Halloween 2020

We had a fun time carving pumpkins with the four littles who aren't so little anymore.

This one might have issues with slimy pumpkin insides.

A Mandalorian ready to battle the spider webs.
Two princesses
joined by a third princess.

We also attended a birthday party for their cousin, Lia.

Hunting rabbits
Not sure who is hunting who here.

We decorated INSIDE this year instead of outside.  Poor Ben wouldn't even come into the house to get his candy without the safety of his dad's arms.

October Means Blase Meets Ditch

The one and only Sunday that it snowed in October, or November or December for that matter, Blase was called into town to shovel snow.  Less than ten minutes later Darren comes up saying that he needed to go help Blase because he went in the ditch.

I picked up my phone and noticed that there were two missed calls from Blase.  I called him back, mostly to pick on him.  He then bemoans me for not answering the phone when he called.  He was quite flustered that he had to call Darren because "Dad won't let me live this down."  Son, I won't let you live this down.  I then informed him that I would have had to tell Darren anyway because I'm not going to come help him.

Poor kid.  You know - your first full-fledged accident in the ditch shouldn't be so close to home that your mother can take the binoculars and zoom in with her camera and get fairly decent pictures as proof.  Poor kid.  We all have to put a car in the ditch sometime.  Not everyone has a mother like me...so again, poor kid!

Baking Duo

I have had such a great time baking with Brigid, Kiara, and Gianna.

The twins have been baking in style!

Cornbread for a school assigment (bad recipe - for the official record).

The caramel rolls were better!  Much better!

Brech, Brigid, and Kiara's Birthday

September 23rd was the day of so many birthdays in our family.  We celebrated on the 22nd with some friends from out of state.  It was a wonderful day!  I loved how excited the twins were.
Seven Years Old
Brigid and Kiara

I think a couple of girls were very excited!

Brech, on the other hand, wasn't as excited to turn 12.  Or maybe he is just getting too old to show his excitement?

Cake!  Yummy!!
Brigid was just giddy all night!

That's a lot of cake to eat!!
