Mommy & Me Party

Yesterday Gianna and I hosted a Mommy & Me party for some of our friends.
We called it a "Love Your Body" party since it was St. Valentine's Day.
All these wonderful people showed up even though it was -9 outside (or colder).
Do you see the lady in the purple dress and pink scarf?  She's on the left hand corner of the picture.
I did not get a picture of her doing her presentation, which saddens me because I really wanted to.  Her name is Camie.  She is one of the most beautiful ladies - inside and out.  She showed us how to tie scarves. She is so amazing!  She is expecting soon and I would ask that all of you keep her in your prayers as she approaches her due date.  Thanks, Camie, for helping make this day wonderful.
This is the Princess Circle.  The little girls dressed up in pretty dresses, wore princess tiaras, had princess wands, and matching necklaces so they could pretend to be princesses.  They watched movies in the basement and had their own little party.
Karla gave us a presentation about fruits and vegetables, including how many to have each day, recipes that we can use to include more of them in our diet, and cool laminated cards for all the girls to keep track of their fruit and vegetable intake.  She did a great job!  Thanks, Karla, for all your prep work, for the cards, and for the wonderful information.
This is Jackie.  Hi, Jackie!! Jackie is such an amazing woman.  Besides being my boys' piano teacher and a first time mommy (her baby, Peter, is super adorable!), she is the best at encouraging people.  It also helps that she tells me I am beautiful and wonderful because she doesn't want to see the other person who looks just like me.  (Inside joke)  Jackie showed us a video on Juice Plus+ and was completely prepared to give away samples to the girls.  Unfortunately, her samples didn't make it in time for the party.  Sniff, sniff.  Thanks Jackie for coming to the party, for being such a positive inspiration, and for staying longer than you intended.
Kristin - the gorgeous lady framed in the windowed - helped each of the older girls do a facial and gave them some skin tips.  She also questioned them on various makeup and skin care questions, awarding them with candy!  What a great idea!!  I think they had a great time.
She had intended for the moms to have facials too, but we ran out of time.  Thanks Kristin for all your amazing help with the girls and their facials.  Thanks for the Satin Hands bonus gift for me.  You are an incredible woman with so much to offer us.  ((HUGS))
 Princess Gianna and Princess Gianna
They watched a Veggie Tales princess movie and a short movie on brushing their teeth, complete with a new toothbrush for each girl (thanks Kristin!).
Of course - I was the queen.  One of the girls called me "Queen" all day until I took the crown off.  Then I was just Mrs. Gebes.  She also drew me a beautiful picture of me.  I was quite the decked out queen in her picture.  Thanks Agnes!
Jessica assisted the girls with applying Jamberry nail wraps on two fingernails.  Thanks Jessica for spending all day staring at other people's nails.
Karla pulled double duty by helping Jessica out. She painted on some Piggy Paint on all the leftover nails.  Camie also helped paint some nails.  What a great day!
Bonnie was my number one kitchen helper. She ran the kitchen for us.  I think she could probably find just about everything in my kitchen now.  It was great to have someone getting food served, putting out spoons and tongs, and cleaning up as we went.  Karla also spent some time washing dishes after most everyone had left and she swept my floor.  Most. dreaded. job. of. the. day.  So glad she did that!  Thanks to both Bonnie and Karla for making my kitchen a haven afterwards.  It is nice not to walk into a war zone after a party!
I did a brief essential oil presentation.  I made lip scrub and hand scrub for the girls to take home.
Another picture of the Jamberry corner.
For dessert we had chocolate fondue.  Thanks to Miss Jenna and Miss Mary (who did not attend) for letting us borrow their fondue pot and fountain.  Everyone who attended brought different things to dip so we had a wonderful variety.
Bernadette is the hair queen of our group.  She does the most beautiful hair creations.  She also gave us some great tips on hair care, especially for long hair.  This is her doing Princess Agnes' hair.  (You know, that little sweetheart who called me Queen all day.)
Here she is doing Princess Gianna's hair.  Thanks Bernadette for putting together those hair tips and for making the girls feel special and like real princesses.

This is proof that I also go through garbages sober.  We had lost something and I thought maybe it got put in the garbage can by accident.  I did not find it in there - but I did find it somewhere else, obviously after the fact.

I'm holding a thermometer because I had taken Gianna's temperature during the day.  She ended up with 101.8 degree temp during the party.  She even slept for 2 hours during the middle of the day.
Brigid was crying at the end of the day because she was sad the party was over.
No, not really.  She had spilled someone's water on her and it wasn't as fun as she thought it would be. She was tired and grumpy at this point.
Thanks everyone for coming to our party.  We had a wonderful time and would love to have all of you come again. I hope the girls left feeling pampered and relaxed....and the moms too.

Thanks again to everyone who made this day a success - including my husband who took all the boys and stayed away from the house from 10 AM until well after 6 PM when the last ones left.  A HUGE thanks to the boys who helped cleaned the house from top to bottom on Friday.  I could never do these kinds of things without Darren and the boys.  They are my "pit crew" of sorts.  They get dirty doing the hard work.  ((HUGS)) THANKS guys!
