Moving Memories

Yes, I know I'm almost two months behind in posting - but I wanted to share everything we've been through.  Making memories is something we are good at it seems.
Memories - like the one where our fish, Kitty, rode shotgun on that one trip down to South Dakota.
And how he splashed water all over the seat and we threatened to have Blase ride on that seat when he was tired of helping with the twins.  He stayed with the twins.
Memories - like when I pulled a fully loaded trailer to South Dakota and didn't even ruin anything!
Or that memories of when I started to cry because I was leaving my friends.
The awesome memory of being in Mary Kay (our pickup's name) when she hit 161616.1 miles.
Blase's repeated memories of me getting excited about silly things - like passing someone.
 The memory of North Dakota....
and the joy of making new memories in South Dakota.
Or remembering that I love that rest stop!
The memory that I can still be a goofball to my son when he is taking pictures without permission!
Ohhh, this memory takes the cake this trip!  See that car - yuppers - that one.
That car caused LOTS of memories for us.  He was all over the road, crossing lines, almost hitting people.  SERIOUSLY!  Didn't we just go through this on our last trip to South Dakota??!!?!?!
Ohh, and the memory of that cop (in our lane) pulling out.
 BOOM - lights!
 Brakes!!!
DUDE!!  How did you get out of that car so stinkin' fast?!
(This was literally all within 30 seconds, if memory serves me correctly.)
Bad memory - ohhh, that driver!
The cool memory of seeing ourselves in the reflection of the camper.
The memory of me being the leader.
We're following the leader, the leader, the leader....
Again, me freaking out about something little.
The numerous memories of me dancing while driving.
Yes, there is a video.
No, I will not be posting it.
Yes, you can thank me now for not providing you that horrible memory.

I really am fun to travel with.  Really.

Moving a Swing Set

We sold our swing set in Horace to the neighbors down the road.  It was quite the moving experience!

Bye, bye swing set!

MCHEC 2016

I was blessed to attend the Minnesota Catholic Home Education Conference the first weekend of June.  I traveled there and shared a room with three of my favorite Fargo friends.  Our room hosted the pizza night on Friday as well.  So many fun memories.  The talks were amazing!  The vendors fantastic and helpful! The company and new friends priceless!

Here's two pictures of my favorite memories of the weekend.
First off - Bernadette won the MacGyver Award for fixing the pickup's windshield wiper with a paper clip.  Funny story about that - I was repacking my purse and came across two paper clips in there.  I wondered why they got there in the first place and thought to just put them away.  Then something whispered, "Just take them along - you never know when you might need a paper clip."  Seriously - who knew we would need a paper clip!!!  It got us to the conference and home without the windshield wiper falling off.  Before this I had to stop every 10 miles to put the wiper back on in the pouring rain.  Memories....nothing more than memories....
This is going to be my most favorite picture of the weekend and favorite memory.  The lovely lady in the middle is Sarah Mackenzie, author of Teaching from Rest.  She is also the amazing host of the RAR - Read-Aloud Revival.  Both the book and the podcast have been lifesavers for me.  She speaks to my heart and inspires me.  So, anyway, I met her, got her to sign my highlighted and well-loved copy of Teaching from Rest, and chatted a few moments.  She has a set of twins as well, about the same age as the girls.  We are very similar in our homeschooling lives and as she was speaking at the conference I kept feeling like she was talking about me.  Crazy.

The lovely lady on the left is my friend, Mrs. NO.  Mrs. NO is the wonderful person who introduced me to the RAR when I was stuck in bed after the knee surgery.  I told her she needed to be in the picture because without her I would have never taken that step to join the members site.  I am completely convinced it is worth the membership price!  Check it out!  You won't regret it!
These two pictures are my used book sale finds.  I know - only two pictures means I was slacking and not buying that much.  Ok, I kept myself restrained because we were still packing and moving.  There will always be another used book sale.
The Story of a Castle, and etc. books are awesome by the way.  No words, just pictures of the same sight as it changes over the years.  Really neat approach to showing how things change over hundreds of years.  They will work well with our study of the Middle Ages.

Climbing the Butte

One of the things that the kids wanted to do with their Uncle Paul and Uncle Paul wanted to do with the kids was climb Bear Butte.  Paul, Mauri, and Jess took a bunch of the nieces and nephews to climb Bear Butte while Mom and I watched all the little kids.

 Someone loves her Uncle Paul.
It's "her uncle".

Mom and Dad's house is right over there.  To the right...well, maybe you can't see it.

Stop the hike - injury!
