On Saturday, November 1st, we hosted an All Saints Day party for some of my friends and their families. We probably exceeded our capacity limits for the home. There was a lot of excitement and a lot of fun! I hope we can gather again soon.
Here are the saints who graced us with their presence...
Joseph and his coat of many colors
A butterfly...while technically not a saint, we did discuss the representation of the butterfly.
St, Olaf
Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati
St. Kateri
St, Joan of Arc
Moses
King Josiah
A crusader who fought with St. King Louis IX.
St. Edward, king
St. Peter (see the keys?)
Infant of Prague
St. Dominic Savio
St. Elizabeth of Hungary and St. Agnes of Prague
St. Lucy Yi Zhenmei
an angel (in more ways than one)
This angel's brother dressed up as St. Olaf (so we had two St. Olaf's), but he was too shy for a picture.
St. Therese
St. Patrick
(props to Jessica for being the only adult who dressed up)
St. Clare of Assisi
and her little sister, St. Agnes of Assisi
The twinnies were not happy about being confined.
Some of the kids ate in the school room (shy St. Olaf has his back to us)
and the rest of them ate in the garage.
The sad sisters fell asleep.
I'm not sure how they could sleep with all that noise.
We had a table to set out our pictures of our departed loved ones for All Souls Day. We are going to have a Mass offered for their souls.
Our saint bookshelf with some of our favorite saint statues.
The older boys played a game, while the other kids played Legos, dart guns, and a host of other things.
This picture proves that for at least one night none of us wore a Doctor Who shirt. This is seriously the first time this has happened. Between the four of us we have an impressive shirt collection of Doctor Who shirts.
After some of the families left, the Wiegrefe family and our family said a decade of the rosary for our departed family members. You can notice the holy glow about the majority of the Wiegrefe family. There's nothing about our family.
