Friday afternoon before the Mark Park Fundraiser we spent some time getting the park ready. It had rained and the volleyball courts were a mess. Some of us raked up the grass clippings and others did odd jobs here and there. It was a great afternoon after a long morning in the van. My family had left around 7 AM and managed to get there around 3 PM their time.
Kaylene and Blase worked on the courts.
Juliana was being Juliana. She did a bit of everything I think.
Raking break without the break part.
This corner is where the boys, Loman, and Darren camped in the tent.
Sweet cousins playing with each other. What I missed a picture of was all of them carrying the bucket together. Adorable!!
Levi and Jenna were watching the guys get the court ready.
Friday evening they had a pistol competition and a golf tee off practice. Darren placed second in the pistol competition if I am recalling correctly.
After the sun went down we got ready for the movie, Mr. Popper's Penguins.
Normally they set up a homemade screen they have. This time they just put a sheet up on the side of the shelter. It works well when it is just a few people as we can all crowd into the area in front of it.
There was a fairly intense game of volleyball still going on at this point as well.
It didn't seem to bother those watching the movie.
I took this picture of Mr. Popper getting "washed out" right before the sky opened up and washed us out. We all made a mad dash for the shelter grabbing kids, blankets/pillows, electrical equipment, and odds and ends. It was a crazy few minutes!
We had a great concession stand crew who took good care of us that night.
We waited out the rain and then headed home.
Overall, it was a wonderful Friday!!
