Kitch-iti-kipi, the Big Spring

Kitch-iti-kipi (pronounced KITCH-i-tee-KI-pee)
The Big Spring
(from a post card)
This is Michigan's largest natural freshwater spring.  The Indian name means "big cold water." The pool measures 300x175 feet and is about 45 feet deep with an emerald green bottom.  An observation raft guides park visitors to vantage points overlooking underwater features.

It's a good thing we have strong, able-bodied young men to help move the raft.

A cute little helper for the raft mover!
