Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center

(From a postcard)
Receiving over 1,000 ship visits each year and millions of ton of cargo makes the Port of Duluth a busy transportation center.  The city is located at the Southwestern tip of the largest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Superior.

The Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center sits at the base of the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge.

One of the displays in the visitor center is the Essayons engine.

From the floor above the engine

We saw the real Edna G. in Two Harbors.

The bridge was down for all our visit.  If we had just gotten there sooner or much later we could have seen a ship go through.  ha ha
 Stephen is in Canada again.

A display of the Edmund Fitzgerald wreck site.

On our way home we saw the train we had taken a ride on earlier that week.
This evening's treat was caramel apples!  YUMMY!!
