The Week(ish) of Fires

On June 24th we had an exciting time in the "neighborhood".  One of the neighbor's daughters wrecked her car and it started the side of the hill on fire.

Taken without zooming.  It's right there. ^^^^^

Tires make such black smoke.

They called in the "mop up crew" from Whitewood.

 WAY TO GO!  Thanks!
These pictures were from the smoke from the Crow Peak fire in Spearfish, SD at the end of June.  The fire burned roughly 2,700 acres of forest.  The smoke was thick a few days, but cleared in our area after the initial containment.

This fire was actually two or three separate fires that all started in the same general area.  There was a hay stack on fire in one of them, some land in another, and I never did hear what the third was.  This was on July 9th.

These pictures are ones my sister took when her friend and her went "snooping".

 Ha ha

Goofy girls!  I love them to pieces!
