Prayer Distractions

The saints talk about banishing distractions during prayers and how we should try our best to avoid said distractions.  I don't believe they anticipated the twins.

Yes, I stopped prayers and grabbed the camera.  The reactions of the kids trying to pay attention to prayers and not the twins were just as sweet.  They really did try their best.  They came toddling out of the bedroom all decked out for spiritual warfare.  Who knew that the boys would be caught in the middle of the battle.

Little Helpers

We bought a new bunk bed for the girls.  Gianna has a twin on top and the twinnies have a full on the bottom.  The twin that was in Gianna's room is now back on top of the bunk it is suppose to be on in the boys' room.  The night Darren took the bed downstairs he had LOTS of helpers.  Lots of little, cute helpers who had a hard time standing still for the camera.

He's one lucky daddy to have such great sidekicks.

The BIG 4-0

Yesterday was Darren's 40th birthday.  He spent some of the day hunting with Blase and Stephen.  What a great memory for his 40th birthday!
Stephen and Blase with their does.

I'm sure hunting with the boys in South Dakota is a much better way to spend the BIG 4-0 than being home with your wife waiting to see what she has planned.  I think part of his plan to get the boys licenses this year was so he wouldn't have to risk me throwing him a black themed birthday party.  As it was he only received a few phone calls about the pigeons (we keep pigeons now, FYI), the phone line that was repaired (I will be able to hear you now if you call), and one phone call from the twinnies to say happy birthday and one call to say good night.  I guess I'll have to do something for his 50th birthday.  I've got ten years to plan it.....hummmm, this should be epic.

New Dishes Motto

The boys' new dishes duty motto.
Blase can do an amazing job imitating Smeagol.

All Souls Day

Blase and Stephen served two Masses back to back (so that is about 2 hours of kneeling).
It was an honor for them to be asked, but they were a bit disgruntled at their mom.  I had thought Father said he already said the first Mass so there would only be one Mass at that point.  Oh those sweet boys will probably ask for exact details next time.
I helped with the supper we were serving later in the evening.
I notice I tend to stick my tongue out at Blase when he takes pictures.
Nate made an amazing veggie lasagna for supper.
The third Requiem Mass started around 6 PM.
I was at church at some point during the day during three Masses and I never did get to attend one.

I love the month of November.  It has everything and then some about what I love in life.
Fall
Poor Souls in Purgatory
A time of thanksgiving
Shorter days and longer nights
and leftover Halloween candy!!!

November is my kind of month!

Pumpkins and Halloween

Watching some Sofia the First while carving my pumpkin.

He was not impressed with the movie.
Blase snapped a picture of me checking out my pumpkin in the dark.

One of the most beautiful sunsets entertained us while we were trick or treating.

The coolest pumpkins on the block!
A nice haul for their first trick or treating ever.
Sharing the booty with the pirate crew.
He never did share a piece with me.  I haven't checked to see if there is any left.
