Home for Wayward Animals

We really are loving our chickens!!  These pictures were from June.
 Growing!  Little pigs.
Boba Fett joined our Home for Wayward Animals.
He was blind and slow.  We have worked with him for the last couple of months.  He is now eating and drinking like a normal calf.  It took many, many hours of teaching him to suck on a nipple.  After he got the hang of that then we had to teach him how to find and eat pellets.  He is now eating grass and grain, but we are still feeding him milk three times a day as he was so small.  He is FINALLY gaining some weight and kicking up his heels like a calf.  God provided us with some meat (for free, thanks Pete) but we really have had to work for it.  He has gained back his sight, but still seems a bit slower than a normal calf.  He has an attitude as well.  When we play with him he will snort at us and then ignore us on purpose if he doesn't want to play anymore.  He's been known to turn his back on you if you are trying to get him to eat something he doesn't want at the moment.  We have enjoyed his temperament!

My favorite chick is the little black and white one just peeking its head out.
