Memorial Day Weekend was rough on Stephen.
First, on Friday, he tried to break the land speed record of a 90 degree turn on a sidewalk on a bike. He failed. He skinned up his cheek, ripped his pants and skinned his knee, and cut his upper lip a bit.
Second, on Monday, he had an unfortunate run in with a kayak paddle. His own kayak paddle to be specific. It was an honest-to-God accident. No messing around - like boys usually do - just slipped and hit his face. As a result, he chipped off a section of one of his front teeth.
We made up a story about how the dam pirates came out of nowhere and attacked him. He fought bravely, but in the end was unsuccessful as they boarded his kayak.
He has since had a root canal and a repair job to make it look like before. Sigh. That was not in the budget. Breaking land speed records and being boarded by dam pirates is outlawed at our house!!
